Today I was looking through my bookmarks and I found the page of a great tutorial on how to paint a Ikea cabinet. So here it is, thanks to Domino

The starting piece is lacquered.

Idea for the wedding… DIY for rice tossing cones.

They seem quite simple to do.I will try to make the template and post it.
I have tried with a piece of paper shaped as a regular triangle (2 sides of the same lenght, this will result in 2 angles of the same size and on different).  Holding the paper with the  unique angle on top fold toward each other the other two angles forming a cone. Make the two sides overlap each other a bit.

If the 2 angles stick out you can fold them inside to have a neat edge.

With a hole punch make 2 holes on the front, insert a ribbon and tie.

You may find it more secure – especially when used to hold something small like rice – to secure the bottom by stapling the bottom.

I love this blog entry I found on The long thread.

Here are the top 100 tutorials of 2008 so plenty of stuff to try to get your/my hands

Plus with each tutorial you choose you discover new web sites and blogs to monitor for inspiration.

ohh I wish I had more time!!!

Tonight (or this week end) I will try to do this The wall above my desk desperately need some dressing and I have been thinking about an inspirationl wall forever.

I bought some wire at the hardware store…not sure if it is strong enough, will post if I succeed.

By the way, instructions are here

I found this tutorial to make a snow flower pillow.
I love the way the flower is made and i guess you can just use the instructions for the flower and make it as decoration on its own.

I have to try to make it (will it work if hand sewn?)

Thank you Amy Butler

About me

While I surf the net, walk around the streets, travel I often come across things that catch my eye. This blog will record those things, the projects I will complete and all the ideas I get.

Me…

There is one shop where I am always happy to go...the hardware store. I dont' know why, but I find it very relaxing... just walking around the aisles. I love to see all those pieces of hardware, chains ... trinkets...electrical stuff ... pipes... tubes ... tools ... all of them so full of potential... ready to become something beautiful in the hands of a crafter or an artist.
